Pyramid Solitaire

Pyramid is a challenging solitaire variant. It is traditionally played with the cards in a pyramid shape as you can see in the layout titled “pyramid”. To make things more interesting though I have added lots of alternative layouts for you to try too. Each one uses a single 52 card deck so you can recreate them off-line too if you want to.

How to play: Your goal is to remove as many cards as possible from the table. Cards can be removed by selecting a pair that adds up to 13 or selecting a King on its own. The royal cards have values as follows:

A=1, J=11, Q=12, K=13

If you cannot see any moves tap the deck at the bottom of the screen to reveal a new card you can match with. When you go through the whole deck it resets so you can cycle through it again. You can do this an unlimited amount of times. Because of this and the fact that all of the cards are revealed from the start the challenge comes from planning ahead to avoid “trapped cards”. That is when a card is trapped underneath its only match so it is impossible to win. At first just matching the cards seems tricky enough but after a while you may find yourself planning several moves ahead to ensure your game goes smoothly. How high can you score?
